William Goodridge

     William Goodridge was born on 18 May 1605 at PROB Bury St. Edmunds, England. He married Margaret (?) circa 1632 at England. William Goodridge died on 21 March 1646/47 at age 41. He (Probably quoted from The Descendants of William Goodridge, by Edwin Alonzo Goodridge, A.M., M.D. NY 1918 - See reference to Document 1, Esther W. (Maxwell) Goodrich.)
Both the names Goodridge and Goodrich can be traced from the Norman Conquest down through the counties of Devon, Soverset, Lincoln, York, Cambridge, Norfolk, Suffolk, Middlesex to Bury St. Edmunds, and on to the Massachusetts Bay Colony and Connecticut Colony. The first record of John and William is July 25 1636 in a land division in Watertown, MA. Watertown was first called Dorchester Fields.
William Goodridge - Homestall - 5 acre lot not from from North West boundary to Mt. Auburn cemetary in Watertown. The graveyard is first mentioned 5 Jul 1642 adjacent to the meetinghouse at the South East corner of Mt. Auburn and Grove St. William Goodridge is buried here, but the markings have disappeared.
William settled in Watertown, MA with his wife and daughter in 1636. In Bury St. Edmunds they were called Gutridge, in Watertown Gutteridge and later Goodridge. At his death he owned 43 acres, buildings, etc. He was a Freeman as of May 1642.
On 3 Apr 1647, Margaret G., his widow, returned and inventory of his estate to the court in Boston, attested by Govenor Winthrop. He (an unknown value). He and Margaret (?) Family Source.

     Robert W. Ryan was born on 12 April 1925 at Rhode Island. He was the son of Thomas Patrick Ryan Sr. and Leona B. Gadoury. Robert W. Ryan appeared on the census of 8 April 1930 in the household of Thomas Patrick Ryan Sr. and Leona B. Gadoury at Putnam, Windham, CT. Robert W. Ryan married Frances (?) circa 1950. Robert W. Ryan died on 10 May 1980 at Sonoma, California, at age 55. Robert died of Yacob Kretzfeld's disease, a disease of the central nervous system. It came on very quickly, and there was no cure. Thomas Ryan, his brother, says that the disease was so contagious that there was almost a strike at Yale when the disease was being studied because the experiments were being transported in the elevators.
